Called to Bless
God’s calling for His children is to live differently from the world. In a society where revenge and retaliation are common, His Word teaches us that we are called to bless, even when we are mistreated or insulted. Responding with blessing…
“Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.” (1 Peter 3:9, ESV).
God’s calling for His children is to live differently from the world. In a society where revenge and retaliation are common, His Word teaches us that we are called to bless, even when we are mistreated or insulted. Responding with blessing is not a sign of weakness but of strength in the Lord. It shows our trust in God’s justice and our confidence that He will take care of every situation.
When we choose to forgive and bless instead of repaying evil with evil, we demonstrate that our identity is in Christ, not in our circumstances.
God has promised us an inheritance of blessing, and part of living in that promise is reflecting His love and grace in our relationships. By acting with kindness and mercy, we not only obey His will but also plant seeds of peace in a world that desperately needs it.
How do you react when someone treats you unfairly? Do you respond with love and blessing, trusting in God? Prayer: Abba Father, in Jesus’ name, help me to live according to Your Word, not repaying evil with evil, but with love and blessing. Give me a humble heart and strengthen me to reflect Your grace at all times. I trust in Your justice and the blessing You have prepared for those who walk in Your ways. Thank You, Lord, because in You I find peace and purpose. Amen.
