“Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” (Luke 6:28, NKJV).

Following Christ calls us to live differently from the world. While human nature urges us to react with resentment or anger to offenses, Jesus invites us to respond with love and grace. Blessing those who curse us and praying for those who slander us is not a sign of weakness but of spiritual strength and trust in God. When we respond with blessing instead of cursing, we reflect Christ’s character and allow His light to shine through us.

This attitude not only transforms our hearts but can also impact those around us, demonstrating the power of divine love and forgiveness. How do you react when someone offends or speaks badly about you? Are you willing to bless and pray for them in obedience to Jesus’ teaching?

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Lord, teach me to love as You love. Help me to bless those who offend me and pray for those who slander me. May my heart be filled with grace and compassion, reflecting Your love at all times. In Jesus’ name, amen
