All the nations will be gathered before him,and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.” (Matthew 25:31–32, NIV)

Jesus is speaking here of the final day, when He will return in glory as Judge and King. This scene is not symbolic or distant—it is a future reality that should deeply shape how we live today.

All of humanity will be gathered before Him. There will be no titles, no nationalities, no status—only hearts revealed before the Throne. And as the Good Shepherd, He will separate those who belong to Him by faith and obedience, from those who have rejected Him.

This passage calls us to watchfulness, obedience, and a living faith, shown by how we treat others, especially the least among us—as the rest of the chapter describes.

Are you living each day with eternity in mind? Are you following the Shepherd faithfully, knowing that one day He will judge with righteousness?

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Thank You that He will come in glory, and His judgment will be righteous and true. Help me to live in reverent awe, obeying Your Word, and waiting in faith for the day I stand before You. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving. In the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
