Co-heirs in Christ by Grace

This declaration from Jesus reveals a glorious moment: the King calling those who have believed in Him, not because of their works, but because of God’s sovereign grace. The Kingdom is not earned—it is inherited through faith in Christ…

“Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father;take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.’” (Matthew 25:34, NIV)

This declaration from Jesus reveals a glorious moment: the King calling those who have believed in Him, not because of their works, but because of God’s sovereign grace. The Kingdom is not earned—it is inherited through faith in Christ (John 1:12; Romans 8:17).

The fact that the Kingdom was “prepared since the creation of the world” shows that this promise is received by believing in Christ Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Those who hear this call are “blessed by the Father” because they believed in Him. Genuine faith—born of grace—bears visible fruit for God’s glory.

As co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17), our hope is anchored in His finished work on the cross, not in our own achievements. We serve and love—not to earn the Kingdom, but because we already belong to it by grace.

Are you resting in Christ’s finished work? Is your hope anchored in God’s promise rather than your own efforts?

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Thank You for making me a co-heir with Him—not by my merit but by Your infinite grace. Help me live each day with gratitude and faithfulness, knowing my inheritance is secure in Christ. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving.

In the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
