Verse of the Day (KJV): “Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:7‬‬

This verse opens a sacred window into the humanity of Christ. While fully divine, He cried out with tears and anguish during His earthly life, most vividly in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36–39). His prayers were not mere ritual they were born of deep pain and reverent submission.

Though He wasn’t spared from the cross, He was heard because His mission was to redeem, not to escape. His reverent submission is a model for us: to trust God’s will even when it costs us.

Through this we learn: God hears. And when we pray with a heart like Christ’s (humble, sincere, and surrendered) we are not alone. Jesus has walked that valley before us, and He now intercedes for us (Hebrews 7:25).

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for hearing my cries, just as You heard Jesus in His sorrow. Help me to approach You with a heart full of reverence and trust, even in pain. Make me more like Christ, obedient and faithful in all things. In His Holy Name I pray. Amen.
