These words were spoken by Jesus after His resurrection, as He appeared to His disciples. He not only granted them His peace, but entrusted them with a mission: to continue the work the Father had given Him. This calling is not minor—it is a holy invitation to represent Christ in a world in desperate need of redemption and truth.
The peace Jesus gives is not like the world’s (John 14:27); it calms the heart amid trials, and strengthens the one who is sent—even in rejection. His peace not only comforts, but also equips us to go, speak, love, and testify.
Just as the Father sent Jesus with purpose, love, and authority, we too are sent—backed by heaven, led by the Holy Spirit, and strengthened by the Word.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your peace that surpasses all understanding. I receive Your calling with humility and gratitude. Send me, just as the Father sent You, to share Your love, truth, and salvation. Lead me by Your Spirit and use me for Your glory. In Your mighty name. Amen.
