Verse of the Day: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12 NIV
These words of Jesus summarize the heart of the gospel. It is not a suggestion but a command that reflects the essence of the Christian life: to love with the same love Christ has shown us. That love seeks no reward, shows no favoritism, and is expressed through service and sacrifice (John 13:34–35).
To love “as He” loved us means to love sacrificially. Jesus showed that true love is not measured by feelings but by actions driven by compassion and obedience. He washed His disciples’ feet, forgave those who betrayed Him, and gave His life for us (Ephesians 5:2).
This love is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit, who pours out God’s love into our hearts (Romans 5:5). When we remain in Christ, His love flows through us, transforming our relationships and reflecting His glory to the world. To love like Jesus is the clearest evidence that we belong to Him.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for loving me with a perfect and eternal love. Teach me to love as Christ loved me—with patience, humility, and sacrifice. Remove all selfishness from my heart and fill me with Your Spirit so that my life reflects Your love. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
