Jesus spoke these words moved by compassion as He saw the crowds weary and helpless, “like sheep without a shepherd” (Matthew 9:36). His gaze was not one of judgment but of love. He saw a world desperate for hope, and His response was prayer—to ask the Father to send workers into His harvest.
The harvest represents souls waiting to hear the message of the gospel. The field is the world, and the workers are those who answer the call to serve. Jesus teaches that the first step is not to run, but to pray. In prayer, God awakens willing hearts, equips them, and sends them forth in power to fulfill His mission (Isaiah 6:8).
Today, the need remains the same. The field is vast, and the love of Christ compels us to act. Not all preach from a pulpit, but all can be worker s in the Kingdom—by sharing His Word, serving others, and living as a testimony of His grace. The true harvest is gathered when the love of God is sown in every heart.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because Your heart is moved with compassion for the lost. Make me a faithful worker in Your field. Awaken in me a passion for Your work, and send more servants to carry Your light into the world. May my life reflect Your love and contribute to the growth of Your Kingdom. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
