Verse of the Day: “When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’” Mark 10:14 NIV
This verse reveals how much Jesus values a simple, trusting, and humble heart. While the disciples tried to keep the children away, Christ became indignant because they were blocking exactly what He came to do: draw people to the Father’s love. Jesus not only welcomes children; He sets them as an example of how the human heart must come to God (Matthew 18:3).
Children come without pretension, without masks, without relying on merit. They approach trusting the One who calls them, and that is the attitude that pleases God. The Kingdom is not gained through human effort or earthly wisdom; it is received with the simple faith of one who knows they need Jesus. This humility opens the door to experience His grace, comfort, and guidance (Psalm 131:1–2).
When we try to live the faith in our own strength, we complicate what God made simple. He invites us to come as we are—with a willing heart, without excuses, without barriers, and without pride. In Jesus we find a safe place, a tender love, and a grace that restores. The Kingdom belongs to those who come with the trust of a child toward a Father (Galatians 4:6–7).
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because Your Son Jesus calls me to come with a simple and trusting heart. Remove all pride and hardness that keep me from approaching You. Make my heart like that of a child—humble, sensitive, and full of faith. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
