“Then he said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.’” (Luke 12:15, NIV).
In this verse, Jesus reminds us that life is not defined by the material possessions we accumulate. We live in a world where success is often measured by what we own, but this perspective is contrary to the principles of God’s kingdom. He calls us to reflect on what truly matters: a life centered on His purpose, His love, and relationships that reflect His character.
Greed can lead us away from what holds eternal value. When we allow the desire to accumulate wealth to dominate our hearts, we lose sight of our dependence on God and the purpose for which we were created. It is vital to remember that our true riches are found in our relationship with the Lord, in acts of faith, and in blessings that money cannot buy.

Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, in the name of Your Son Jesus, thank You for reminding me that true riches are found in You and not in material things. Help me to live with a generous heart and to depend on Your provision, trusting that You are enough. Deliver me from greed and teach me to value what holds eternal significance. Thank You for Your unending love and for giving me the true riches of living in Your presence. Amen.
