The Power of Our Words
This verse reminds us that every word we say has consequences and that we are responsible for the fruit we reap from them.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21, NKJV). The words we speak have a powerful impact on our lives and those around us. They can build, heal, and bring blessings, but they can also destroy, hurt, and sow discord.
This verse reminds us that every word we say has consequences and that we are responsible for the fruit we reap from them.
God calls us to be wise with our words. Instead of speaking words of criticism, discouragement, or anger, we should choose words of love, encouragement, and truth. Just as the tongue can bring death through lies, complaints, and judgment, it can also bring life when we proclaim blessings, forgiveness, and hope.
What kind of fruit are you reaping with your words? Do you build up those around you, or do you tear them down with what you say? Today, choose to speak life and blessings.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Lord, in Jesus’ name, help me use my words to build up and not to destroy. May my tongue be an instrument of blessing, proclaiming life, hope, and truth. Teach me to speak with love and wisdom so that I may reflect Your character in everything I say. Amen.
“With hope and joy in Him, Along the Way with Him”.
