Jesus spoke these words just before His arrest, as His disciples were about to face the darkest hours of their lives. He doesn’t promise a life without suffering, but something far greater: peace in the storm, and courage rooted in His victory.
He knows our battles, our fears, our losses. And He’s honest: in this world we will face trouble. But that’s not the end of the story. His most powerful promise is this: “I have overcome the world!” That victory was secured on the cross and confirmed through His resurrection. And today, that victory is ours, not because we’re free from pain, but because in Christ we have hope that overcomes fear, strength that defeats discouragement, and peace that surpasses understanding.

Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Give me discernment to seek peace in Him, not in the world around me. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving and ask for Your help to live encouraged and secure, knowing that in Christ, I already have victory.
