God Hears Us
This verse invites us to pray with confidence—not with fear or uncertainty. We don’t approach a distant or indifferent God, but a loving Father who hears and responds when we pray according to His will.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14, NIV)
This verse invites us to pray with confidence—not with fear or uncertainty. We don’t approach a distant or indifferent God, but a loving Father who hears and responds when we pray according to His will.
The key phrase is: “according to His will.” Prayer is not about presenting a wish list, but about entering into communion with His heart, seeking first what He desires for us. And when we pray this way, we know He hears us, and His answer will be perfect.
Jesus lived this way. In Gethsemane, He prayed with sincerity and surrender: “not my will, but Yours be done.” Through Him we learn that prayer doesn’t change God—it changes us, aligning our hearts with His loving plan.
Are you praying for your will to be done, or are you trusting God enough to seek His will, knowing it is good, pleasing, and perfect?
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Give me discernment to pray according to Your will, and the confidence to know that You hear me. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving and ask for Your help to live by faith, trusting that Your plans are better than mine.
In the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
