Do Not Worry

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reminds us that the life God has given us holds far more value than material needs. Though daily concerns are real, He calls us to live with trust, not fear.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” (Matthew 6:25, NIV)

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reminds us that the life God has given us holds far more value than material needs. Though daily concerns are real, He calls us to live with trust, not fear.

God doesn’t ignore our needs, but He invites us to shift our focus: instead of obsessing over “what will happen,” we’re called to remember who is caring for us. If God has given us life, He will surely sustain us.

Jesus isn’t denying that hardships exist—He’s teaching us to live by faith, not anxiety. Trusting in His care is an act of worship that frees the heart.

Are you letting worry dominate your mind, or are you trusting that your Heavenly Father knows your needs?

Today’s prayer

Prayer:

Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Today I lay down every worry, knowing You are my provider. Help me live with confidence, remembering that You gave me life and will sustain me. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving.

In the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
