The Work God Began
The apostle Paul writes these words with firm conviction: God doesn’t abandon what He starts. The One who planted the seed of faith in our hearts will tend it, nurture it, and bring it to fullness.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV)
The apostle Paul writes these words with firm conviction: God doesn’t abandon what He starts. The One who planted the seed of faith in our hearts will tend it, nurture it, and bring it to fullness.
In the midst of our mistakes, doubts, or failures, this promise reminds us that we are not alone in the process. The Christian life is not a burden we carry alone, but a work in the hands of the Master. He refines, shapes, strengthens, and completes us—day by day—until we are made whole in Christ.
“The day of Christ Jesus” points to His glorious return. Until then, we are a work in progress, but a progress guaranteed by His faithfulness.
Are you trusting in your own strength or resting in the work God is doing in you? Do you recognize that even in hard times, He is still perfecting you?
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Give me discernment to trust that the work You began in me You will carry to completion. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving and ask for Your help to persevere with faith, knowing You never fail.
In the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
