“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8, NIV) ) In this verse, the apostle Paul does not condemn physical exercise, but he places it in its proper context—useful for this life, yet limited in scope compared to the immeasurable worth of godliness.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Thank You for calling me not only to believe but to live in godliness. Teach me to value the eternal above the temporary, and to seek communion with You above all. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving.
