Verse of the Day: “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1 NIV
The apostle Paul reminds us that the Christian life is not grounded in the earthly but in our union with the risen Christ. Having been raised with Him, our perspective shifts: we no longer live for what is temporary but set our hearts on what is eternal. Seeking the things above means desiring and prioritizing what reflects God’s glory and will.
Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, a place of authority and victory (Hebrews 1:3). This assures us that our faith is not in vain, for He reigns over all and invites us to share in His victory. Our identity and purpose are hidden in Him (Colossians 3:3), giving us confidence and hope to walk in obedience.
Those who live with their eyes fixed on Christ find direction, strength, and hope. It does not mean ignoring earthly matters but living every aspect of life with the perspective of eternity, knowing that in Jesus we have a new and abundant life.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because in Christ Jesus You have given me new life. Help me set my heart on things above and live with the assurance that my hope is in Him. May every decision and action reflect my identity in Christ. I present this prayer in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
