The psalmist reminds us that the source of our hope is not in circumstances or in our own strength but in the Lord. Waiting on God is not passive but active and full of faith. It is a call to trust in His perfect timing and His faithfulness, even when the answer does not come immediately.
Jesus is the fulfillment of this hope. He said, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25), showing that in Him we find victory over death, sin, and despair. Waiting on the Lord is ultimately waiting on Christ, who promised to be with us always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20).
By abiding in Christ, we learn that true courage does not come from ourselves but from the Holy Spirit who strengthens us. Those who place their hope in the Lord walk in confidence, face trials with faith, and rejoice in the assurance that His promises never fail.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because in Christ Jesus my hope is secure. Teach me to wait on You with patience, courage, and faith, trusting that Your promises are eternal and unshakable. I present this prayer in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
