Defending the Hope in Christ

The apostle Peter reminds us that our faith is not something to be lived in secret but a testimony that should be visible and explainable. To honor Christ in our hearts means to acknowledge Him as Lord of our lives and to live in a way…

Verse of the Day: “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” 1 Peter 3:15 NIV

The apostle Peter reminds us that our faith is not something to be lived in secret but a testimony that should be visible and explainable. To honor Christ in our hearts means to acknowledge Him as Lord of our lives and to live in a way that reflects His character and redemptive work. The hope we hold on to is not based on temporary circumstances but on Christ’s victory over death and the promise of eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:20–22).

Being prepared to give a reason for our hope means knowing and living the gospel. It is not just about words, but about showing through our lives that we believe in the transforming power of Christ. And Peter teaches us to give this testimony with gentleness and respect, following the example of Jesus, who came full of grace and truth (John 1:14).

Living in Christ gives us firmness in the face of opposition and the opportunity to be light in a world that desperately needs answers. Our mission is to proclaim with humility that true hope is found only in Jesus.

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because in Christ Jesus You have given me a living and incorruptible hope. Help me to honor Him in my heart and to always be ready to share my faith with love and respect. May my life reflect the work of Your Son in me. I present this prayer in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
