The birth of Jesus takes place far from human greatness. There are no palaces, no honors, no crowds—only a manger, simple cloths, and a humble setting. God chose humility as the stage to reveal His glory. From the very beginning, the Savior identifies with the poor, the forgotten, and those without a place. His arrival shows that the Kingdom of God is not established by human power, but by grace and love (2 Corinthians 8:9).
“There was no room for them” is not merely a historical detail; it is a truth that still speaks today. Even now, many make no space for Christ. Yet Jesus does not turn back because of rejection. He is born anyway, gives Himself anyway, and loves anyway. The manger points toward a life marked by self-giving, one that will culminate at the cross, where He would again be rejected in order to bring us salvation (John 1:11).
This passage invites us to examine our own hearts. Is there room for Jesus in our daily lives? The Son of God does not seek luxury, but a humble heart in which to dwell. When we make room for Him, His presence transforms the ordinary into holy and the simple into eternal. The manger becomes the first altar of worship to the King who came to save us (Philippians 2:6–7). Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for sending Your Son in humility to save us. Prepare my heart to receive Jesus each day, and make my life a place where He is welcome. Teach me to live with simplicity, gratitude, and worship. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
