Remembering with gratitude

Gratitude transforms the way we remember the people God has placed along our path.

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3 · NIV

Paul wrote these words while facing difficult circumstances. Yet, when he thought about the believers in Philippi, he did not allow his situation to rule his heart. He chose to thank God for them. His gratitude came from a life centered on Christ and from recognizing every life-giving relationship as an expression of God’s grace.

Jesus also teaches us to see others with love. In Him, we understand that no one enters our lives without purpose. Some people walk beside us, teach us, encourage us, pray for us, or help us grow. Even in difficult seasons, Christ can transform our memories into reasons for gratitude.

Today, we can pause and remember those whom God has used along our journey. Giving thanks for them not only honors their presence; it also recognizes the faithfulness of Abba Father working through their lives.

Pause and reflect

Who can you remember with gratitude today, and how could you let that person know that God has used their life to bless you?

Today’s prayer

Abba Father, thank You for the people You have placed along my path. Help me recognize Your grace working through them and never forget the love, support, and lessons I have received. Form in me a grateful heart that values, blesses, and loves others as You love us. In the name of your beloved Son Jesus, amen.
