“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” (Luke 19:38, NIV)
This verse captures the moment of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, when the crowd, filled with hope and joy, recognized that in Jesus, God’s promises were being fulfilled. He was not an earthly conqueror—He came humbly, riding on a donkey, yet clothed with divine authority.
The phrase “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” echoes the angels’ announcement at Jesus’ birth (Luke 2:14). The One who was born in humility now entered Jerusalem to fulfill His mission of redemption.
His followers shouted “Blessed is the King!” not because they expected a military leader, but because they sensed, however imperfectly, that true peace and God’s glory had arrived in Him.
Today, Jesus remains the King worthy of all praise—not a king of this world, but the eternal King who brings peace to hearts and glory to the Father.

Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Give me discernment to always recognize Him as my King, to receive Him with joy, and to proclaim His peace everywhere I go. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving and ask for Your help to live giving glory to Your name.
