The Sweetness of Trusting God

The psalmist doesn’t merely invite us to believe intellectually, but to taste to personally experience the goodness of the Lord. Just like savoring something delicious, knowing God means coming close to Him, trusting in His faithfulness…

Verse of the Day: “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8 (NIV)

The psalmist doesn’t merely invite us to believe intellectually, but to taste to personally experience the goodness of the Lord. Just like savoring something delicious, knowing God means coming close to Him, trusting in His faithfulness, and depending on His promises.

Those who taste God’s grace discover that He is good at all times, even in the midst of trials. And that trust brings true joy. As Jeremiah 17:7 says: “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” To “taste and see” is an open invitation for those who doubt, fear, or search for hope. Only in Christ do we find fullness, refuge, and lasting peace.

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Lord, I want to experience your goodness beyond just knowing about you. Open my eyes to your faithfulness and fill my heart with trust. Let me be blessed as I rest in your promises. In the name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
