PSALM 84:5 (NIV) “Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.”

True blessedness is not found in wealth or human achievements, but in building a relationship with Christ Jesus. The psalmist declares that those who are truly blessed are the ones who recognize that their strength comes not from themselves, but from the Lord. This trust leads them to live with hearts set on God’s ways, walking in obedience and faithfulness.

Jesus Himself confirmed this truth when He said: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5, NIV). The strength we need to endure in life does not come from human effort, but from abiding in Christ, who is our strength and support.

The man or woman who walks in the ways of God finds joy, security, and purpose, facing the circumstances of life with the power of God working in our lives.

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because my true strength comes from You. Teach me to live with my heart aligned to Your ways, depending on Christ in every moment. May each step I take reflect that my trust is in You, and may my life testify of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
