Verse of the Day: “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 NIV

The Christian life is not sustained by looking at circumstances, our own strength, or our failures, but by fixing our eyes on Jesus. He is the pioneer of our faith—no one believes unless He first calls. And He is the perfecter—the One who sustains, shapes, and brings our faith to completion. Our confidence does not rest in ourselves, but in His finished and perfect work.

The passage reminds us that Jesus endured the cross “for the joy set before him.” The cross was real, the pain was real, and the shame was real. Yet Jesus looked beyond the suffering: He saw redemption, reconciliation with the Father, and the salvation of many. His obedience unto death reveals a steadfast, intentional, and victorious love. The cross was not the end; it was the path to glory (Philippians 2:8–9).

Today Jesus is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. This means His work is complete and He reigns with authority. Fixing our eyes on Him gives us perseverance to run the race, strength not to grow weary, and hope to keep moving forward. When we look to Jesus, our faith is renewed and our walk is aligned with eternity (Colossians 3:1–2).

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, help me fix my eyes on Jesus at all times. Thank You because He is the author and perfecter of my faith. Give me perseverance to move forward, strength in times of trial, and a firm hope in the finished work of Christ. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
