Verse of the day: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV))
True wisdom does not begin with human knowledge or experience, but with the fear of the Lord. This fear is not about being afraid but about reverence, respect, and worship toward God. Recognizing God as the source of all wisdom leads us to depend on Him in every aspect of our lives, seeking His guidance and direction.
This verse also warns us that fools despise both wisdom and instruction, choosing to live far from God’s truth. Yet, as children of God, we are called to value His teachings, as revealed in His Word, and to let them shape our decisions and actions daily. Today, let us reflect: Are we living with hearts full of reverence for God, allowing His wisdom to guide our lives? May we humbly seek His knowledge and desire to be taught by Him, trusting that His ways are always best.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Lord, we acknowledge that true wisdom comes from You. Help us to live with reverence and humility, always open to Your teaching. Guide us to walk in Your truth and make decisions that reflect Your will in our lives. Amen.
