This prophecy from Isaiah was given during a time of great darkness for Israel a period marked by invasions, exile, and despair. Yet, in the midst of deep gloom, God promised the arrival of a great light: Jesus Christ, the Light of the world.
When Jesus came, He fulfilled this promise. His presence brought hope where there was desolation, truth where there was confusion, life where death seemed to reign. He is the light that shines into the human heart, driving away the shadows of sin and fear.
Today, the world still faces many forms of darkness. But for those who look to Christ, an everlasting light has dawned. We no longer walk in darkness—we walk guided by the light of His love and truth.

Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for giving me Your beloved only Son, Jesus, for my salvation. Give me discernment to always walk in His light, leaving behind every shadow of sin and fear. I lift this prayer with thanksgiving and ask for Your help to reflect Your light in this world.
