Verse of the Day (KJV): “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13)
This call from the apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is a timeless exhortation for all believers. “Watch” means to stay awake—alert to God’s movement and aware of the enemy’s schemes. Jesus Himself urged us to watch and pray so we wouldn’t fall into temptation (Matthew 26:41).
“Stand fast in the faith” urges us to remain rooted in the truth of the Gospel, unmoved by trials or false teachings. In a shifting world, our faith in Christ must remain steadfast (Ephesians 6:13-14).
“Be courageous” and “be strong” call us to spiritual boldness and maturity. This is not about physical strength but the strength of character shaped by dependence on God and obedience to His Word. Jesus, the perfect man, showed us the way through His obedience—even to the cross (Hebrews 12:2-3).
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, awaken me to Your will and strengthen my faith to stand firm in Christ. Make me watchful, courageous, and obedient, just as Your beloved Son was. Help me not to give up in trials, but to be strong in Your power.
In the Name of our Lord Jesus, I thank You. Amen.
