Verse of the Day (KJV): “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3–4
God is not distant from our pain. He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. Every time we are afflicted, He is near to soothe our hearts. But His comfort is not meant to stop with us—it is given so we might comfort others in return.
Jesus endured every kind of suffering and sorrow. He wept, He was betrayed, and He died for us. Yet through all, He showed the way to trust the Father and find true consolation. His Spirit, the Comforter (John 14:26), lives in us and guides us through every hardship.
As we are comforted by God, let us also be messengers of that same comfort to others. Someone near you may be silently hurting—bring them hope in Christ.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for comforting me in every trial. May Your comfort flow through me to those who are hurting. Use my life to be a reflection of Your mercy and grace. In the Name of our Lord Jesus, I thank You. Amen.
