Verse of the Day (NKJV): “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:5‬

In a world that glorifies self-assertion, power, and control, Jesus uplifts meekness as a virtue that brings blessing. Meekness is not weakness—it is strength under control. It is the attitude of someone who, instead of striving through force, humbly submits to God’s will.

Meekness is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:23) and a sign of those transformed by Christ. Moses was described as the meekest man on earth (Numbers 12:3), and Jesus called Himself “gentle and humble in heart” (Matthew 11:29).

The promise to “inherit the earth” echoes Psalm 37:11 and reminds us that the Kingdom of God is not conquered by violence, but received through trust and obedience. This inheritance is a gift to the meek, not a reward for the proud.

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Lord, make my heart meek like Yours. Teach me to trust Your justice and reject every form of pride or aggression. Help me to walk humbly and inherit the blessing of Your Kingdom. Thank You for showing me the way through Christ Jesus. In His name I pray. Amen.
