Verse of the Day (NIV): “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬

This call from Jesus is a direct invitation to all who are weighed down by life’s burdens—whether sin, anxiety, sorrow, or fatigue. It’s not a temporary or shallow rest, but a deep soul-rest that can only come from the One who is gentle and humble in heart (Matthew 11:29).

Rather than demanding perfection or merit, Jesus invites us to come just as we are. He does not turn away the weary or broken, but receives them with compassion. His rest is the result of His grace, not our works. As Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

To rest in Christ doesn’t mean the absence of trials, but the assurance of His presence in the midst of them (Psalm 23:4). It is an invitation to surrender our burdens and trust His faithful care.

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You just as I am—with my burdens, fears, and weariness. Thank You for inviting me to find rest in You. Help me to release what I cannot control and trust in Your perfect care. Abba Father, we present this prayer in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
