Verse of the Day: “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
Devotional: When tempted in the wilderness, Jesus responded with power by quoting Scripture. His words reveal a foundational truth: we do not live by physical bread alone, but by the Word of God. In it we find guidance, strength, hope, and life itself.
Just as the body needs daily nourishment, our soul needs the Word of God every day. For the believer, it is not optional—it is essential for living according to His will and resisting the temptations of the world (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
When we make God’s Word our daily bread, we grow in faith, discernment, and spiritual maturity. It reminds us who God is, who we are in Christ, and what His purpose is for our lives. In Scripture, we hear His voice and find the sustenance our soul longs for.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving us Your Word as nourishment for the soul. Help me to seek it daily with hunger for truth and obedience. May Your voice lead my life. Abba Father, we offer this prayer in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
