God’s Word is described as a lamp and a light, reminding us that in the darkness of this world we need a sure guide. Just as a lamp shines on the path at night, Scripture reveals God’s will and shows us the right way to walk in obedience and faith. Without it, we would be lost in darkness, but by holding fast to the Word we find direction, truth, and life.
Jesus declared: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12, NIV). He is the full revelation of God, and as we walk in His Word, we experience clarity in confusion and hope in uncertainty. Scripture not only teaches us how to live, but it leads us to Christ, the true light that never fades. By remaining in the Word, we walk securely because Christ Himself guides us, shining His light on our path and keeping us firm in His truth.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You because Your Word lights up my life and shows me the right way. Help me to never depart from it and to walk each day in the light of Christ. May my heart always find in Jesus the direction, strength, and hope I need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
