Verse of the Day (KJV): “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.” Psalm 139:23 KJV

These words come from a heart longing to live in full communion with God. David, aware of his human frailty, asks the Lord to examine him deeply. He does not fear being tested because he knows that the God who knows everything also redeems everything. To love God deeply allows us to stand before Him with honesty and say, “Search me.”

Allowing God to search the heart is an act of humility and trust. He does not seek to condemn but to reveal what needs healing. His gaze penetrates where no one else can see—into our intentions, motives, and hidden thoughts (Hebrews 4:12–13). Every divine test is meant to purify, not destroy; to restore, not punish (Psalm 26:2).

When we open our hearts to God, He reveals the areas still in need of His grace. He shows us what must be surrendered and the paths that must be made straight. It is in that process that transformation takes place. As we allow the Holy Spirit to examine our lives, we learn to walk in integrity, sensitivity, and truth before Him (Psalm 51:10).

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, search me and know my heart. Reveal anything in me that does not please You and cleanse my thoughts with Your truth. Teach me to walk in integrity and to depend on Your grace each day. May my life reflect a clean heart and a spirit sensitive to Your presence. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
