Verse of the Day: “For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” Matthew 10:20 NIV

Jesus spoke these words while preparing His disciples to face opposition, rejection, and moments of great pressure. He reminded them of a foundational truth: when the trial comes, they will not be alone. The Spirit of the Father would give them the words to speak—words filled with wisdom, courage, and divine guidance (Luke 12:12).

This promise remains true today. When God calls us to testify, to pray for someone, to comfort, exhort, or proclaim His Word, we do not depend on human eloquence or ability. It is the Holy Spirit who speaks, guides, inspires, and uses our words to touch hearts. We may think it is us, but it is truly Him at work (1 Corinthians 2:4–5).

Trusting this promise brings freedom. We no longer fear making mistakes, nor does insecurity control us. The Spirit of the Father reminds us of Jesus’ words, gives us peace, guides our decisions, and fills us with boldness that only comes from God. He speaks through fragile vessels so that all glory belongs to Him (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Today’s prayer

Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for Your Holy Spirit who speaks and works through me. I open my heart today to hear Your voice and to become a useful instrument in Your hands. Place Your words in my mouth and guide every conversation, decision, and encounter. May everything I speak reflect Your truth and Your love. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
