Verse of the Day: “And Mary said: ‘My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,’” Luke 1:46–47 NIV
These words flow from the depths of Mary’s being. Her worship is not superficial or driven by circumstances; it rises from a heart that has believed and surrendered to God’s will. When Mary says that her soul glorifies the Lord and her spirit rejoices, she declares that her entire being is aligned to exalt God. True worship begins within and is expressed through humility and gratitude (Psalm 103:1).
Mary acknowledges God as her Savior, affirming her own need for grace and redemption. Even though she was chosen for a unique purpose, she does not exalt herself but directs all glory to God. Her joy does not come from her calling, but from who God is and what He has done. This is the heart that pleases the Lord—one that understands every blessing flows from His mercy (Ephesians 2:8).
This song teaches us that the right response to God’s work in our lives is worship. When we recognize the grace we have received, the soul overflows with praise and the spirit with joy. To glorify God is not only to sing; it is to live aware of His salvation, celebrating His faithfulness and proclaiming His greatness with our entire being (John 4:23).
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, receive the worship of my soul and the joy of my spirit. Thank You because You are my Savior and all my hope is in You. Help me live each day to glorify You with all that I am. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
