He carries our burdens each day

In this song of praise, King David recognizes God as the Savior who faithfully sustains His people. His words do not deny the existence of burdens; they reveal that we were never meant to carry them alone.

Blessed be the Lord, our God and Savior, who day after day carries our burdens. Selah.” Psalm 68:19 English rendering based on NVI

In this song of praise, King David recognizes God as the Savior who faithfully sustains His people. His words do not deny the existence of burdens; they reveal that we were never meant to carry them alone.

Some burdens disappear quickly, while others remain with us for a season. Yet God’s help is renewed day after day. He listens to us, strengthens us, guides our steps, and keeps the weight of our circumstances from overcoming us.

“Selah” invites us to pause and reflect. Today we can stop striving in our own strength and remember that God is present. Our lives are not resting solely upon our abilities, because the Lord Himself carries us and leads us toward His purpose through His Son Jesus.

Pause and reflect

Identify the burden that is weighing most heavily on your heart today. Name it honestly before God instead of hiding it or trying to control everything by yourself. Ask God, in the name of His Son Jesus, to help you surrender that burden, remove from your heart everything that does not come from the fruit of the Holy Spirit, renew your strength, and fill you with His Holy Spirit. Then take the next faithful step, trusting that God will provide what you need for today.

Today’s prayer

Abba Father, blessed are You, my God and Savior. Thank You because I do not have to carry my burdens alone. You know what worries me, what exhausts me, and what I have been unable to resolve. You are God. Thank You for choosing me and rescuing me through Your Son Jesus. Today I place my burdens in Your hands. Remove from my heart everything that does not come from the fruit of Your Holy Spirit. Renew my strength, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and teach me to depend on You one day at a time. Sustain me, direct my steps, and help me rest in Your faithful love. I ask this in the name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
