Verse of the Day: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26 NIV
This passage announces the transforming work that only God can accomplish in the depths of our being. The heart of stone represents hardness toward His Word, resistance to repentance, and inclination to sin. But God’s promise is to give us a new heart, sensitive to His voice, and a renewed spirit enabling us to obey Him (Jeremiah 31:33).
The transformation God promises does not depend on our effort but on His grace. The Holy Spirit renews our minds, changes our desires, and leads us in the way of holiness (Romans 12:2; Titus 3:5). A new heart not only believes but also loves and seeks to do God’s will.
This verse reminds us that the Christian life is not an external improvement but an inner regeneration. It is the Spirit’s work that gives us a new beginning and enables us to live in fellowship with the Father, showing the world that we are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for Your promise to give me a new heart and a renewed spirit. Remove all hardness, pride, and resistance from me, and make me sensitive to Your voice. Transform my life through Your Spirit so that it reflects the grace and love of Christ. I pray in the Name of Your beloved Son Jesus. Amen.
