Love One Another as He Loved Us

“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (1 John 4:11, NIV).
This verse takes us to the heart of the Gospel: God’s love shown to us through Christ, and our response to that love. The apostle John doesn’t offer a suggestion but a clear and profound call: just as God loved us—with patience, sacrifice, forgiveness, and truth—we must love one another.
In the life and work of Jesus, we see this love in action. He touched the untouchable, forgave sinners, embraced the rejected, and gave His life even for those who denied Him. That same love is to be reflected in us.
Loving as He loved means giving, forgiving, and showing compassion. It’s not based on fleeting feelings, but on a firm decision led by the Holy Spirit.
Are you loving others the way God has loved you? Is there someone you need to forgive or reach out to in love today?.
Today’s prayer
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for loving me with a perfect and everlasting love. Help me to love others with that same love—genuine, committed, and full of grace. In the name of Jesus I give You thanks. Amen.
“With hope and joy in Him along the way with Him”
